Thanks for supporting this event last year because this event cant happen without the help of  our sponsors.  I have an opportunity coming up at Lake Fork that I wanted to put in front of you guys that will provide a productive way for you to promote your products in front of several hundred Texas anglers.  I am a Farmers Insurance agent and the company’s big charity that they raise funds for is the March of Dimes Foundation  www.marchofdimes.com. This will be my 4th year to host Bassin for Babies, a team format tournament where the proceeds go to the March of Dimes Foundation. Basically Farmers has a set time frame where agents from each division independently host events to raise as much money as possible to all be donated at one time at the end of the promotion.  My tournament runs like an flw event with a numbered take off and flighted weigh in.  I hire a local tournament director and polygraph tech to come in and run the event as a third party so that everything runs smooth and I think this has been the key to the events success.  With the changes that I have made over the last two years it’s costing me more money to cover the cost of putting the event on.  I have to raise a lot of money before the first cast is made to make sure that everything is covered so that nothing is taken away from the donation.  Last year I had just over 100 boats enter making a field of over 200 anglers from all over Texas.  This event is growing in popularity and has a solid promising future of becoming a really big deal at Lake Fork for Texas anglers.  I am looking for 3 levels of success or 3 main goals to achieve with this event.  First and most importantly is to raise as much money as possible for the MOD. Second is to provide a good benefit tournament with a desirable payout that anglers want to participate in,   My third level of success is to put on an event that the industry will want to get behind.  A reputable event that businesses will want to be involved in for the good of raising money as well as giving them a real opportunity to promote themselves.  The cause is very important to me because my daughter
was born 7 weeks premature and I thank God we
had no real trouble.I know however, there are
other families that aren’t so lucky
and I am a firm believer in the work
that the March of Dimes does to
help these people and these
children.
